Recorded at the New Orleans Investment Conference (NOIC) 2026, Kai Hoffmann sits down with Darwin Green, President & CEO of Mackay Gold & Silver, to discuss the company's consolidation of Nevada's historic Comstock mining district, its ongoing exploration program, and the potential for new gold and silver discoveries. The Comstock district historically produced more than 8 million ounces of gold and nearly 200 million ounces of silver, establishing itself as one of America's most significant precious metals mining districts. Following a series of strategic acquisitions, Mackay has consolidated much of the district and is now advancing exploration along the Occidental Trend, a parallel mineralized structure that has seen relatively limited modern drilling. Recent results from Occidental South include an intercept of approximately 67 metres grading 2.3 g/t gold. Darwin explains how the company is evaluating both near-surface, bulk-tonnage mineralization and deeper targets that could potentially host higher-grade gold and silver. Mackay's current 20,000-metre drilling program includes approximately 15,000 metres focused on near-surface exploration and 5,000 metres targeting deeper mineralization along the Occidental structure. With approximately US$35 million in cash at the time of the interview, Mackay is positioned to continue advancing its exploration strategy while evaluating the broader potential of the Comstock district. The conversation also covers the company's acquisition strategy, institutional shareholders, historical gold resources acquired through consolidation, and the upcoming drilling results investors can watch.
