Tune in Wednesday, September 19 at 10:00 AM PST / 1 PM EST for an AMA session with the management team from Medexus Pharmaceuticals (TSX: MDP | OTCQX: MEDXF)
Medexus Pharmaceuticals (TSX: MDP) is an innovative orphan drug and rare disease pharmaceutical company with a core presence in hemato-oncology and hematologyand historically also on rheumatology and allergy products. The company has built a commercial platform across the U.S. and Canada around a portfolio of established products, with its growth profile increasingly shifting toward hematology-oncology.
The key growth driver is GRAFAPEX (treosulfan), which launched in the U.S. in February 2025 as a conditioning regimen for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in eligible patients with acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndromes. Early adoption has been strong: by June 2026, 74 of roughly 180 U.S. transplant centers had ordered GRAFAPEX, including 54 that had already reordered. Medexus generated $11.6 million of GRAFAPEX revenue in fiscal 2026 and is guiding to $30-32 million in fiscal 2027, while maintaining its target of US$100-175 million in annual product-level net revenue within five years of commercial launch. With an expected long-term adjusted gross margin of approximately 80%, GRAFAPEX has the potential to become a meaningful driver of both revenue growth and operating cash flow.
Business development is also becoming increasingly focused on complementary transplant products. UM171-based cell therapy recently licenced in Canada is one example of this strategy, offering potential exposure to innovation elsewhere in the transplant pathway. Successful execution would further strengthen Medexus’ hemato-oncology platform.
