Retired empty nester in Texas enjoying the golden years!
Just remember, without discipline, a clear strategy, and a concise plan, the speculator will fall into all the emotional pitfalls of the market - jump from one stock to another, hold a losing position too long, and cut out of a winner too soon, for no reason other than fear of losing profit. Greed, Fear, Impatience, Ignorance, and Hope will all fight for mental dominance over the speculator. Then, after a few failures and catastrophes the speculator may become demoralized, depressed, despondent, and abandon the market and the chance to make a fortune from what the market has to offer. LASTEST UPDATE- January 9, 2025 HAPPY NEW YEAR! The 4th Quarter of 2024 was very profitable and offered some incredible investment/trade setups. I was very active this past quarter and I accomplished what I set out to do which was to acquire quality undervalued stocks at bargain basement prices for the bull market that is close at hand. I deployed much of my cash position in December to take advantage of the capitulation/tax loss selling to enter many positions at or very close to long term technical bottoms.!! NOW I WAIT! I intend to not sell those positions going forward with the exceptions of selling only partial position when technically very overbought or fundamentally poor news. My comment thread lets you know where I am currently most active.
" I can't take all the pretty girls to the party but I am going to try" and through active money management and charting, I am definitely wearing protection!
I trade for my own personal wealth and am not a stock broker or analyst. I depend on the charts, news flow, liquidity, short reports, insider activity and professional advisors to keep me abreast of opportunities. You are responsible for your own investments. I share my activities to assist others and to share what I have learned, good or bad. Good luck with your investments!
My trading style- Spread out in a lot of positions buying at very oversold levels in choice value added stocks. I generally keep my investment capital in any one stock to 1-6% of my total capital but I often exceed those limits if I have High Conviction. I keep my positions for as long as necessary to achieve result as long as the thesis has not changed. I buy in tranches averaging up or down as the charts dictate. I rely more on weekly/monthly and quarterly charts. I am looking for multiple indicators to turn favorably before I commit to a larger play. CASH is by far my largest trade position. In the form of money market funds, CD’s and bullion.
